Coach’s Game Analysis:

Hitting:
- Opposing pitcher had flat pitches. Ump was not calling these pitches illegal. However, I personally think the pitches were easier to hit.

Fielding:
- Both teams played effectively on defense.

Base running:
- Neither team was particularly aggressive on base running.
- A-WOL made the only base running blunder of the game. Looking over the film, he was being aggressive, and he was picked-off after making a bad split-second decision.

Game Highlights:

Big Bats:
Daniel: 5 for 6 with an RBI.
A-WOL: 4 for 5 (K) with an RBI and a run scored.
Dee: 3 for 6 with a run scored.

Web Gems:

Dee: rocket 5-3 force-out to first. (4th)
Marilyn: 1-3 force out on a chopper to the mound. (4th)
Indies #1: 1-2-3 inning in 4th.
Dee: Behind the head snag of a deflection off ceiling. (5th)
Marcus: 6-3 double play to Daniel. (7th)
O.C.: U6-3 double play. (8th)
Indies: 1-2-3 inning in 4th and 7th. Seven shut-out innings.
O.C.: Six shut-out innings.

Pitching:
Marilyn: 10 IP, 3 Ks, 2 BB, CG, Win.

Memorable Events:
- Strong defensive game put up by both teams. Only 9 total runs scored.
- Game played through a total of 10 innings.

A-WOL Watch:

Played game with groin injury. Did not limit base running speed, but it did impact maneuverability (i.e., fielding.)

Batting:
4 for 5 (K) with a run and an RBI.
- Used light bat for first 3 at-bats. Then used heavier Black Magic bat for final three.

- First hit was solid and to the LF netting. The others were off the ceiling and near the mound and 3B. (I think.)

- After second hit, was originally called out trying to take third on a Daniel base hit. Ump claimed that a fielder tagged me on slide to third. However, fielder admitted he never touched me, so call was reversed.

- Was picked off second in 5th. After I advanced to 2nd on a Kim SAC, Daniel hit a grounder to the right of 2B. I intended to dash to third after the fielder got ball, but she bobbled it. I mis-processed this and tried to go back to second. As luck would have it, the ball dribbled toward me, so fielder had a clean lane to tag me.

- Struck out looking in last at-bat. Ump in other game yelled “ball” as ball crossed plate. I thought it was our ump, but he called it a strike, netting a K.

Fielding:
3 touches.
- Caught and made a put-out at 2B. (Latter was a quick but soft throw that narrowly beat runner.)

- In 9th, a throw to 2B was wide but deflected off my glove. I managed to scramble and collect ball. While lying on ground, made desperate attempt to touch 2B with right leg, but I ended up pulling a muscle. Had to leave game.
